About

The Bozeman Film Society brings adult-oriented quality independent, foreign and documentary films to Bozeman and strives to seek out and present those films which engage, entertain, and foster an understanding of the world community around us. The BFS shows films year-round in the historic Ellen Theatre on Main Street in downtown Bozeman. It also co-sponsors "Story Under the Stars" every August - an outdoor summer film on the lawn of Story Mansion Park on South Willson Avenue. The Bozeman Film Society is a non-profit 501©(3) and thanks it's sponsors, volunteers, audience and board members for helping to "Keep 'Em Flickering!"

Screening 18-20 award-winning films each season, the BFS continues to show newly released independent, documentary and world cinema. In 2009, the Crawford Theater was the beneficiary of a new state of the art perforated movie screen thanks to a generous donation from the BFS. Upgrades to the sound and projector systems were also donated by the BFS and HATCHfest allowing them to screen 35mm film. Since the upgrades, the BFS has been able to bring newer films and a higher-level film experience to Bozeman viewers and is dedicated to bringing a new high-resolution DCIP digital projector to our viewers in 2015. Partnering with local groups and bringing guest speakers is another way the BFS works to keep our schedule lively.
