About

Ciao a tutti! Welcome to Via Montana Italian!

I'm Dan Potts, and I teach Italian language classes here in Bozeman. After teaching MSU students for study abroad trips in Italy, I decided to start a community class open to anyone who wants to experience the joy of traveling in Italy and really being able to talk to people...in their own language! My style of teaching is not just learning grammar from a book, but in my class we also practice Italian "on our feet" with fun interactive dialogues, scenarios and phrases for real-world situations. A big part of the class is also learning about Italian culture and customs, how to be polite, how to order food and drink (the way the locals do)...in short, how to be in Rome and "do as the Romans do." If you've been to Italy, share your stories with us!

Classes are held in the spring and the fall at the Strand Union Bldg. on the MSU campus. Fall classes begin September 1st for 10 weeks. There will be a class for absolute beginners and also a second class for continuing students and new students who have some experience with Italian.

Continuing level class will be held Tuesday evenings from 6:15pm - 8:00pm. Beginner classes will be held Thursday evenings from 6:15pm - 8:00 pm. Course fee is $250 (textbooks and materials included)
